As a local restaurant-with-rooms, The Bell is all about good food, relaxed dining and naturally, great Suffolk ingredients. The menu tabs above will help you discover a flavour of our cooking here at The Bell.

OUR MENUS – On our Bell a la carte-style menu, we offer our delicious stylish home-cooked dishes, featuring local seasonal ingredients and global flavours to suit all tastes and appetites.

SERVING TIMES – Enjoy our delicious Bell menu every day with food served 12- 9pm Mon – Sat.
On Sundays, it’s 12 – 4pm.

TABLE BOOKINGS – We do get full at popular times, so get in touch to make your reservation early.

SUNDAYS – Due to lockdown restrictions, we cannot offer our luxury carvery at the current time, but we do offer a Sunday lunch roast special in addition to our regular menu.

BREAKFAST FOR NON-RESIDENT GUESTS – If you would like to join us for breakfast any day of the week but are not staying in one of our bedrooms, we would happily welcome you as a non-resident but you must make a table reservation in advance. For our breakfast menu, click on the link at the top of the page.

JONNY’S COOKING – Our food here at The Bell At Sax’ is what I love to eat, and what the guides like to label ‘Modern British’, not entirely sure it describes it, but for me that means great local ingredients, simply cooked up into comforting dishes, the kind of food to relax over when eating out. Not fancy fine dining, instead proper food with real flavour, nevertheless prepared with the same care and skill as the expensive pretentious places up and down the coast (but at half the price!). And by the way, our food is home-cooked by our hard-working team of chefs, we even make our own proper rolls from scratch every day. Our Bell menus change as new ingredients arrive, making best use of what’s fresh, in-season and bartered for at the kitchen door.
